Outdoor first aid (16 hrs contact hours)

ITC Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid
ITC Certificate in Outdoor First Aid (SCQF Level 6)


This qualification is designed to meet the needs of those working away from immediate assistance (more than 30 minutes) in the remote and rural regions of the UK. 

It is suitable for workers in rural and remote settings and will maintain the license to practice for those with Outdoor National Governing Body Instructor awards.  These include national governing bodies such as:
  • British Canoe Union
  • Mountain Training
  • British Caving Association
  • British Cycling
  • Royal Yachting Association

Emergency First Aid at Work
(1-day of 6 contact hours)

Employers have to assess their workplace for  first aid requirements, and the 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification is one of the statutory qualifications for this purpose.  This course will cover basic, emergency first aid including:
  • roles & responsibilities
  • dealing with collapse (with and without breathing)
  • choking
  • bleeding
  • shock
  • seizures
  • minor workplace incidents
  • using first aid kit.

First Aid at Work
(over 3-days with 18 contact hours)

Suitable for all employees either in industry, education or childcare and anyone seeking a higher level qualification in first aid.  This course will cover basic, emergency first aid including:
  • roles & responsibilities
  • dealing with collapse (with and without breathing)
  • choking
  • bleeding
  • shock
  • seizures
  • minor workplace incidents
  • major illnesses
  • common and serious workplace injuries
  • poisoning
  • anaphylactic shock
  • burns treatment
  • eye injuries
  • using first aid kit.

FAWR First Aid at Work Re-qualification
(over 2-days and 16 contact hours)

Suitable for anyone seeking to revalidate their first aid at work certificate. Nb- all candidates must hold a current first aid at work certificate on the date of the course.

Outdoor First Aid- 8 Hours

This course covers the essentials of managing immediate, potentially life threatening incidents in a systematic manner. Ideal for anyone who may be required to take charge at an incident.

This 1-day (8-hour) course is suitable for some Outdoor Instructor awards, including Cycle Leader, Climbing Wall Leader and RYA .

This course is one unit taken from the 2 day Outdoor First Aid course that we offer.  Please note that this qualification is not suitable for some NGB award holders.
